About Nordlys

The Nordlys Film & Arts Festival takes place at the historic Bailey Theatre in Camrose, Alberta, Canada. Nordlys, which means “northern lights” in Norwegian, casts its cinematic glow over the dark Camrose winter.

The festival presents an eclectic blend of films from Canada and around the world as well as the opportunity to engage with special guest filmmakers. Over the last decade, Nordlys has screened award-winning films from over 25 countries.

Throughout the weekend, talented local performers provide musical interludes in our licensed theatre. On Saturday night, our audience is treated to a feature concert inspired by a film.

Nordlys is entirely run by a passionate team of volunteers and is supported by a growing list of generous community sponsors.

We look forward to you joining us to experience this unique celebration of cinema and community.

NOrdlys 2021: The Intermission

Noooo! No Nordlys???!!! The most important part of our festival is you and the last thing we want to do is jeopardize your health and safety. Therefore, we are taking an "intermission" with very high hopes of returning to the Bailey Theatre on the weekend of February 18-20, 2022.

On the bright side, we will be sending out a few newsletters, and on what would have been our Festival Weekend (February 12 - 14, 2021) there will be some special film recommendations and a link to a free package of Alberta short films curated just for you! Subscribe here to make sure that you are on our email list.
