A Heavy-Hearted Decision
Although we fully intended to proceed with Nordlys 2022, our hardworking Nordlys Board recently made the painful decision to cancel this year’s festival. Please know that you are not alone in your disappointment. More than anything, we have the health of our beloved community in mind. It was also important to preserve the financial strength of our organization as we look ahead to future festivals.
If you purchased your Weekend Pass at the Bailey Theatre, please stop by the Box Office to collect your full refund. Weekend Passes purchased online via our website will be refunded automatically during the coming weeks. T-shirt purchases will also be refunded; watch for the t-shirt image to return in 2023. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any specific questions about refunds.
On the bright side, we can hardly wait for the joyous reunion we will have at the Bailey Theatre when we are finally able to meet in our usual Nordlys style – in a bustling celebration of cinema and community. Thank you so much for sticking with us until that day finally arrives! Your understanding and support is deeply appreciated.

The Nordlys Film & Arts Festival takes place at the historic Bailey Theatre in Camrose, Alberta, Canada. Nordlys, which means “northern lights” in Norwegian, casts its cinematic glow over the dark Camrose winter.
The festival presents an eclectic blend of films from Canada and around the world as well as the opportunity to engage with special guest filmmakers. Over the last decade, Nordlys has screened award-winning films from over 30 countries. Throughout the weekend, talented local performers provide musical interludes in our licensed theatre.
Nordlys is entirely run by a passionate team of volunteers and is supported by a growing list of generous community sponsors.
We look forward to you joining us to experience this unique celebration of cinema and community.
